Smell of chlorine 

• Symptoms: Eyes red and pungent smell of chlorine.
• Cause: Contrary to what one might think the cause is not an excess of chlorine (just check with the test) but insufficient chlorination that prevents the destruction of clorammine. These are intermediates that are formed as a result of oxidative chlorine on organic substances present in the pool, if this free chlorine tank is not sufficient, they remain in water without being degraded. Remedies: Do shock treatment
